Garland pledged to ‘protect’ the Justice Department from political pressure

According to reporters at Politico, Mitch McConnell was recently asked whether or not he would back Merrick Garland, President Joe Biden’s attorney general nominee. McConnell clearly said he would even though he was against his nomination in 2016.

Many of us remember Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell comments bashing Donald Trump and declared he was “practically and morally responsible” for the insurrection at the US Capitol on 6 January – minutes after voting to acquit the former president in his impeachment trial for that very same act.

Is McConnell a friend to conservatives? Does he represent the republican party? The lack of public trust in the party was already on edge, and McConnell has helped to diminish belief in the party while he managed to create record lows in support by 74,000,000 Trump supporters over the past 2 years.

McConnell’s monotone voice appears dull in his appeals and creating a negative impact to the party by kissing the backside of the newly elected congress, and backing Joe Biden’s Administration’s to provide a overwhelming amount of executive orders.

Merrick Garland, President Biden’s nominee for attorney general, answered questions from senators Monday. If confirmed, he would inherit a department damaged by accusations of political interference.

Anyone could see Merrick Garland’s all star performance while speaking at on Monday was seen as a weak performance. He could barely get the words out in complete sentences and come across as pandering to democrats and refused to answer direct questions.

Garland was grilled by Josh Hawley who asked a question to “whether or not you believe illegal entry at America’s border should remain a crime”. See Video of Merrick Garland’s response to the question.
